After a movie in the nearby theater, the most popular place in this home for kids and adults alike is “Serendipity,” the slyly-named ice cream shop. Guests can select from several flavors dipped direct from old-fashioned bins set in a marble-topped refrigerated cabinet. And get yummy handfuls of M&Ms or jelly beans from candy dispensers along the wall. Distressed wood wall cabinetry and a black-and-white checkered floor add to the ambiance of simpler times.
The set of “Happy Days” inspired the owners of this home to put in a 50’s style diner, complete with a chrome tin ceiling, with all the molding made out of chrome steel. Two paintings flanking either side of the diner pay homage to the folks who made the home possible; likenesses of everyone from the carpenter to the electricians to the interior designer and the family make an appearance in the scenes.
