There is nothing quite like a day at the spa to make you feel like yourself again. But if setting aside time to make a trip to the spa doesn’t fit into your schedule, then you might want to consider recreating the experience right at home. The owners of these eight unbelievable master bathrooms have made sure to incorporate amenities that make them feel pampered every day.
Statement-making tile
When it comes to the master bathroom of today, tile is just as important as the sink, shower and toilet. And this Lake Magdalene master bathroom proves the point. The California modern-inspired bathroom features captivating Stonepeak Michelangelo Zebrino tile, a high-tech porcelain that mimics the look of marble. The eye-catching stripes and lines of the tile, laid in a herringbone pattern behind the soaking tub and in the nearby shower, create an alluring focal point in the space. “The rich blend of neutral tones grabs your attention and provides an interesting backdrop to the bathroom as a whole,” says interior designer Debra Ackerbloom.

It is all about the symmetry in this transitional bathroom in Parkland Estates. “Typically you can draw a line down the middle and you will see the exact carbon copy of what is on the left side to the right. It’s not only properly functional, but it’s really calming on the eyes,” says contractor James Ramos of Ramos Design Build.
In this case, a pair of five-foot vanities flanks the oversized shower, which is tucked right behind the soaking tub, creating a captivating focal point. The pièce de résistance is the elegant Carrara marble covering the floor and shower walls. The subtle gray and white veining bring the entire room to life.

The gray double vanity plays nicely off the veining of the Carrara marble seen on the floor and walls of this St. Petersburg master bathroom. Vesica mullion doors flank the large vanity mirror, while rollout drawers and a hidden electrical outlet under the sinks offer additional convenience. Nickel fixtures and hardware, plus a trio of crystal chandeliers, add a touch of sparkle to the space.

Pure glamour might be the best way to describe this enchanting master bathroom. Bianco Carrara marble runs halfway up the walls of the intriguing space—creating the perfect backdrop for the hexagon mosaic tile on the floor and the modern, gold and brass plumbing fixtures and lighting. “We were so excited to work with a client who was open to using gold,” says Michelle Miller. “Gold has made such a strong comeback. And the contrast between the brushed gold hardware and the gray and white marble lends itself to an elegant, timeless design that also feels very current and original.”

Shower power
Talk about the ultimate shower. Beautiful Calacatta Gold marble ups the drama in this St. Petersburg master bathroom. The beautiful white and gray veining creates a truly one-of-a-kind shower, while Chrysanthemum waterjet-cut Calacatta Gold from Artistic Tile was installed behind the inviting soaking tub, adding even more visual interest to the space.

Interior walls were removed on the second floor of this home to make way for a spacious master bathroom. Now, an oversized shower and a large jet bathtub are positioned along the outer wall, which also includes two large windows so the homeowners can enjoy the waterfront view. Noce travertine was installed from floor to ceiling along the walls of the shower and tub area. Listello mosaic tile was used for the borders and niches, adding a touch of color and shine. “The shower is large enough to avoid having a door and the clear glass allows the tile work to pop as you enter the bathroom,” says contractor Doug King.

Despite the lower ceiling and narrow footprint, the shower in this St. Petersburg bathroom couldn’t be more spacious. Complete with three different showerheads and soft Macchiato polished marble, the shower complements the surrounding environment. “The homeowners wanted plenty of storage and function in this space,” says interior designer Pamela Harvey. “We included a place for the wife to sit and do her makeup and a television so they can watch the morning news while getting ready for work.”

The owners of this St. Petersburg bathroom were thinking big when it came to the shower. The monochromatic color scheme of the Madrid Glossy and Elegance Antracite Natural 12×24-inch porcelain tile helps to establish the modern design of the bathroom. The large format tile works well with the overall size of the shower, which includes two showerheads and plenty of space to maneuver. Other unique details include the sleek floating double vanity and crisp white quartz countertop.
