Davis Islands has a diverse mixture of home styles ranging from historic residences dating back to the creation of this community in the 1920s, to 50s ranches to modern Mediterranean mansions and just about everything in between. This newest addition to the Davis Islands melting pot is a lovely Key West-style home built by Homeworks. And in true island style, it even includes water views of the channel and Harbour Island from the second floor balcony.
The “Z” house, named after a beloved local soccer coach whose home previously stood on this site, is 2,665 square feet and sits comfortably on the property without overwhelming its neighbors.
Homeworks owners Marilyn and Ramon Perez wanted to build a home with character that fit in with the neighborhood and the island style. The light, lime green exterior walls with bright white trim combined with a traditional Florida standing seam metal roof definitely brings the island theme to mind.
For Marilyn and Ramon it is especially important to build homes that contribute to the beauty and atmosphere of the island. “We have two grandchildren living here and what we’re leaving behind is what they will have to live with,” Marilyn says. “We want to build homes they will be proud of.”
